 Info:

  • India’s batting in the first T20I wasn’t strong enough with six single-figure scores and only Shreyas Iyer’s 67 a significant contribution. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya also struck sixes but we’ll expect more than the combined total of 5 runs from the top-3 batsmen Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli.
  • England’s bowlers are very strong in this format with a potent mix of raw pace from Mark Wood and Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid’s wrist spin.
  • Dawid Malan is the world’s no.1 ranked T20I batsman and will be looking to add to his impressive average of 54.93 in this format.
 Live Streaming
The live streaming of the series will be available on Disney Hotstar.
 TV Channels
The match can be watched live on Star Sports in India and Sky Cricket in the UK.
 Toss Prediction
Eoin Morgan likes his teams to experience different situations but expect whoever wins the toss to choose to field.

 Weather & Pitch Report
⛅ Weather:
It will be hot and sunny in Ahmedabad with temperatures around 34 when the game starts.
🏟️ Pitch:
Expect a similar surface to the last game. Not a road to bat on but no major gremlins on the surface either.

 Team NEWS:

 INDIA Team News:
Virat Kohli surprised the cricketing world at the toss in the last match when he revealed that Rohit Sharma was being rested for the first two games of this series. As a result, we expect India to be unchanged before Rohit returns in the third game.

 ENGLAND Team News:
It was very close to a complete performance from England in the last match with Shreyas Iyer scoring 67 perhaps the only blot on the copybook. Eoin Morgan’s men continue to have a swagger in white ball fixtures with their confidence at a new level following the 2019 Cricket World Cup win.

 IND Key Players:

 Axar Patel:
the left-arm spinner caused England huge problems in the Test series and will be looking to get that psychological hold over the T20I batsmen as soon as possible. If England can take him for 8 runs an over without losing a wicket, then they will feel they have turned the tables..

 Virat Kohli:
India’s captain averages 49.62 in this format and his five ball duck on Friday not only silenced the stadium but also put a huge dent in his team’s ambitions. You can’t keep Virat down though and we expect him to be back to his fluent best on Sunday.

 Risabh Pant:
Pant plays the game with a freedom and enjoyment we that we don’t see from many players at this level. When he gets going the crowd erupts and England’s fielders and bowlers can feel very intimidated. However it is now nine T20I innings since he went past 50!.

 ENG Key Players:

 Jos Buttler:
the wicketkeeper has been opening the batting for England in this format since 2018 and has hit five half-centuries in fourteen innings since he made the move. Batting alongside Jason Roy at the top of the order, it is very unusual for both of them not to fire.

 Dawid Malan:
although he sometimes takes a while to get his innings going, Malan always goes through the gears and has a remarkable ability to be not out at the end of England’s innings. Coming in at number three means he often top scores.

 Jofra Archer:
England’s gun bowler provides raw pace and exceptional skills alongside Mark Wood in the fast bowling department. After successful IPL campaigns, India’s bowlers are well aware of the threat he carries.

 Team Forms:

 IND Team Form:
India have now lost back to back T20Is for the first time since defeats against South Africa and Bangladesh in late 2019. However, after those defeats they then only lost once in fourteen so will certainly not feel like they are in a worrying rut.

 ENG Team Form:
England have won their last four T20I games and six of their last seven in the format so come into the second match of this series with their confidence sky high.

 SQUAD:
 INDIA:

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (c), Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul Tewatia, Ishan Kishan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Varun Chakravarthy, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur.
