 Series:: NED vs IRE ODI
Venue:  Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd – Utrecht, Netherlands The.

 Info:

  • Max O’Dowd was again Netherlands’ top run scorer on Friday with 36 at the top of the order, although Scott Edwards made 23 from 24 balls to post the highest strike-rate in the innings. With the ball, although he went wicketless, Frederick Klaassen was very impressive returning figures of 0-15 from 8 overs.
  • Ireland’s Paul Stirling was again on form with the bat in the second ODI, hitting a 64 ball 52 after fellow opener William Porterfield was dismissed for an 8 ball duck. With the ball, Josh Little took the top three Netherlands wickets and finished with 4-39. Craig Young was equally impressive finishing with 4-18.
  • With the gloves, Scott Edwards was not involved in either of the two Irish wickets but produced a useful knock with the bat. Lorcan Tucker did not get a chance to bat but took four catches behind the stumps

 Weather & Pitch Report
⛅ Weather:
High of 22 with partial cloud around throughout the day in Utrecht on Monday.
🏟️ Pitch:
The lack of sixes and low batting strike-rates were more a result of Ireland’s impressive bowling and risk free batting. A score of 200+ is certainly possible from either team with the bat.
 Toss Prediction
Netherlands have won the toss and chose to bat first in both ODIs. We expect whichever captain to choose to bat first should they win the toss.

 Team NEWS:

 NED Team News:
  • The home side were unchanged from their win on Wednesday in Friday’s second ODI. Although a couple of players have not contributed much at all with the bat in the series so far, we expect them to stick with the same XI in this crucial final ODI.
 IRE Team News:
  • After cruising to victory on Friday we don’t foresee any changes for Andy Balbirnie’s side in this game. William Porterfield has only produced 5 runs in the series so far and, after only just being recalled to the side, will be keen to show his worth.

 ℹ️ Match Finished

 C & VC Options:

Max O’Dowd-
O’Dowd has been Netherlands’ best batter from its last two series. He looked good in the last game and can get a big score in the decisive game.
ODI Career: Runs 294, Avg. 58
O’Dowd this series: Runs 59, Avg. 29
Paul Stirling-
Stirling has been by far the best batter of the series. He has looked in excellent touch and has two half-centuries to his name which makes him a perfect captain option for the fantasy team.
ODI Career: Runs 4818, Avg. 39
Stirling this series: Runs 121, Avg. 60
Josh Little-
The left-arm quick has clocked high speeds this series and has looked threatening every time he has come to bowl. He is a brilliant wicket-taking option.
ODI Career: Wkts 18, Bowl Avg. 26
Little this series: Wkts 7, Bowl Avg. 10

 NED Key Players:

 Max O’Dowd:
A 36 on Friday to follow up his 23 on Wednesday, O’Dowd knows that a lot rests on his shoulders at the top of the order and a big score is required.

 Frederick Klaassen:
Produced 2 maiden overs and went for only 15 runs from 8 overs on Friday. If he can add a wicket or 3 to his figures then he will put Netherlands in the driving seat.

 Timm van der Gugten:
Netherlands’ top scorer with the bat on Wednesday, van der Gugten was very economical with the ball on Friday. He bowled 2 more maidens to add to the 3 from the first ODI.

 IRE Key Players:

 Paul Stirling:
The Irish opener deals only in big scores and averages 97.57 from his last 8 ODI innings. Incredibly, he has posted a lower score in each of his last three innings but still made a half-century on Friday.

 Andy Balbirnie:
The skipper produced a patient, almost Test-like, batting innings to take his team to victory. He showed excellent game awareness and ensured his team got the vital win.

 Josh Little:
The pacey left-armer has combined figures of 7-71 across the series so far. He came very close to taking a hat-trick in Friday’s game and caused problems for the Netherlands batsmen throughout.

 Team Forms:

 NED Team Form:
Netherlands come into this game with two wins and two defeats from their four ODIs in 2021. However, they have batted first in all four games and are yet to post a score above 200.

 IRE Team Form:
Friday’s comprehensive win was well needed for Ireland who had lost their previous 4 games in this format. They now have a team win to complement the impressive individual performances.

 SQUAD:
 Netherlands:

Pieter Seelaar (captain), Scott Edward, Max O’Dowd, Stephan Myburgh, Ben Cooper, Bas de Leede, Timm van der Gugten, Logan van Beek, Fred Klaassen, Philippe Boissevain, Vivian Kingma, Brandon Glover, Tobias Visée, Musa Nadeem Ahmad, Saqib Zulfiqar.

 Ireland:

Andrew Balbirnie (captain), Mark Adair, Gareth Delany, George Dockrell, Josh Little, Andrew McBrine, Graeme McCarter, Barry McCarthy, Kevin O’Brien, William Porterfield, Simi Singh, Paul Stirling, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Craig Young.
