 Info:

  • RCB’s 100% winning start to the campaign has been built upon quality batting from Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. Maxwell has 176 runs to his name and is second only to Shikhar Dhawan in the 2021 IPL runs list. de Villiers top scored in the first game and also made 76* in the victory against KKR. With the ball, Harshal Patel began the tournament with 5-27 against Mumbai Indians and has chipped in with two wickets in both games since.
  • Rajasthan Royals, so often an English dominated team, have their South African contingent to thank for their only win. David Miller (62) and Chris Morris (36*) getting them over the lane against Delhi Capitals. With the ball, Chetan Sakariya is leading the way with six wickets, 3-31 against Punjab Kings and 3-36 against CSK.
  • RCB’s form has meant they are yet to select overseas players Daniel Sams, Finn Allen, Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa. Rajasthan Royals have not played Australian Andrew Tye in any of their three games.

 Toss Predictions
Virat Kohli followed the lead of Rohit Sharma on the weekend by choosing to bat first after every game had seen the toss winners elect to field. We expect to see him choose to bat first again if he calls correctly.

 Weather & Pitch Report
⛅ Weather:
Partly cloudy but the temperature will still be above 30 during the game.
🏟️ Pitch:
The games in Mumbai have produced higher scoring games than those in Chennai so far in the tournament. We expect a pitch which delivers scores approaching 200.

 Team NEWS:

 Bangalore Team News:
RCB will fancy their chances against a depleted Rajasthan Royals team and may be tempted to give some fringe players a run. However, that doesn’t really fit with the way Virat Kohli leads his team and we expect to see them select the same XI from their big win against KKR.

 Rajasthan Team News:
Although Liam Livingstone hadn’t played in any of their games so far, his departure, due to covid bubble fatigue, leaves them with even less options after Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer were ruled out. They are depleted but need to find a way to bond the rest of the squad together and form a siege mentality.

 RCB Key Players:

 Harshal Patel:
If anyone thought his five wicket haul against Mumbai Indians was a fluke, Patel has shown his quality in the following games as well. He has the most wickets and the best economy rate of all RCB bowlers.

 Glenn Maxwell
The Aussie all-rounder has his sights set on his IPL run totals of 552 in 2014 and 310 in 2017. After three games he already has 176 runs to his name.

 AB de Villiers
Such has been his form that there is already talk of him returning to the South Africa team for the T20 World Cup in India later this year. He has hit 18 boundaries across his 3 innings so far.

 RR Key Players:

 Jos Buttler:
Without Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and now Liam Livingstone, Buttler is left to fly the England flag for Royals. He needs to build on his 49 against CSK and bat throughout the innings in this game.

 Sanju Samson
Burst onto the scene this year with 119 but has made only 5 runs in his next 2 innings. Rajasthan need their skipper to lead from the front as they rebuild their team.

 Chetan Sakariya
Two three-wicket hauls in three games has been an excellent start to life in the IPL for the young paceman. He will relish the opportunity to bowl at RCB’s big names in this match.

 Team Forms:

 RCB Team Form:
Three wins on the bounce have got rid of any lingering memories of their awful finish to the 2020 IPL season. They are very much the form team in 2021.

 RR Team Form:
Rajasthan Royals won their last three fixtures in 2020 but have lost momentum in IPL 2021. With players departing, their task is getting harder by the game.

 ℹ️ Match Finished
Toss:  RCB won the TOSS & elected to BOWL first.

Pitch Report: This was the pitch used for Match 2 and 4 this season and we have had 816 runs scored. It’s an absolute belter. It’s the 2011 World Cup pitch as well. Groundsmen Ramesh and team have done a great job. Nice covering grass, good sound too. Tap tap tap (tests the surface with his knuckles).. Nice and hard. The ball comes through really nicely. The quicks have had a some success, been a bit of swing and movement. On pitches either side (6 and 8) we’ve had some turn as well. As it’s drying out through the tournament we may see some turn. There’s a nice breeze blowing across that may keep the dew away. Hope it stays away. 185-190… Put them on the board and you may be able to defend it.
