Info:
- Although Sunrisers lost their opening game on Sunday, they did register two half-centuries with the bat. Jonny Bairstow continued his good form in India with a 40-ball 50 and Manish Pandey top scored with an unbeaten 61 from 44 balls.
- RCB got over the line in spite of none of their batsmen reaching a half-century. Virat Kohli contributed a useful 33, Glenn Maxwell 39 and AB de Villiers the gun batsmen with a 27-ball 48.
- Harshal Patel’s bowling stood out amongst a sea of top name bowlers in the first game. Particularly impressive was Patel’s final over in which he conceded only 1 run and took 3 other wickets. Mohammed Siraj also caught the eye for RCB, although he went wicketless, he conceded the least amount of runs of the bowlers who bowled their full four over allocation. For Sunrisers, Rashid Khan was the standout performer with the ball, taking the wickets of Shubman Gill and Andre Russell whilst conceding only 24 runs.
Live Streaming:
Live Streaming: Fans in India can stream the match on Disney+ Hotstar.
TV Channels:
The match can be watched live on Star Sports in India, Sky Cricket in the UK and Willow TV in the USA.
Toss Predictions:
In line with all the others so far in the tournament, we expect both David Warner and Virat Kohli to choose to chase if they win the toss.
Weather & Pitch Report:
⛅ Weather:
Although partly cloudy during the hours of the match, the temperature will still be in the high 20s.
🏟️ Pitch:
Although Mohammed Siraj has produced the most economical figures at the Chidambaram Stadium so far in the tournament, we expect the spinners to find the surface particularly helpful.
Team NEWS:
SRH Team News:
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be looking to bounce back from their reverse to KKR on Sunday. Although the margin of defeat was only 10 runs, this slightly flattered Sunrisers who hit a 6 through Manish Pandey from the final ball of the match when the game was gone.
RCB Team News:
All that mattered was getting over the line against Mumbai Indians but Virat Kohli will undoubtedly be keen to see them finish games in a more convincing manner. Requiring 7 off the final over with a set AB de Villiers on strike, it should never have got to the final ball in the opening game of IPL 2021.

SRH Key Players:
David Warner:
Although you can’t expect the left-handed opener to produce in every match, Sunrisers need their captain to find his touch sooner rather than later. He averaged under 40 in last year’s IPL after his previous three seasons had seen 69.20, 58.27 and 60.57. They need the return of David Warner 2019.
Rashid Khan:
The spinner would get into any T20 team and his ability to take wickets throughout the innings is a crucial one. He picked up KKR’s opener Shubman Gill and middle-order talisman Andre Russell whilst going for a run a ball across his four overs.
The spinner would get into any T20 team and his ability to take wickets throughout the innings is a crucial one. He picked up KKR’s opener Shubman Gill and middle-order talisman Andre Russell whilst going for a run a ball across his four overs.
Jonny Bairstow:
Three of his last four innings in India, combining ODIs and IPL, have contributed 273 runs. If he could have stayed at the wicket for another couple of overs against KKR then victory would surely have been Sunrisers.

RCB Key Players:
Virat Kohli:
India’s captain will have been disappointed with his batting contribution of only 33 runs before falling lbw to Jasprit Bumrah. However, we still saw a run-out from him to remove Rohit Sharma, he is always in the game.
AB de Villiers:
The South African power hitter picked up where he left off in previous IPL tournaments with his 48 in the first game. It won’t be long before he is contributing a half-century or bigger, that is for sure.

Kyle Jamieson:
Having got his debut IPL game out of the way, the Kiwi with the big price tag will be keen to build on his first showing. He delivered with the ball and provided de Villiers with the knowledge that there was a handy batsman at the other end in the closing stages of the game.

Team Forms:
SRH Team Form:
Sunrisers will have been disappointed to go down against KKR after they had finished the 2020 IPL so strongly. However, the nature of the IPL means that you can bounce back rapidly from any setback and they will be looking to do the same here.
RCB Team Form:
After losing their final five games including the Eliminator in last year’s IPL, RCB will be delighted to have got back to winning ways against Mumbai Indians. However, one win doesn’t mean they are suddenly the form team, they now need to back up this performance.
SQUAD:

ℹ️ Match Finished
Pitch Report: It’s 63 metres on one side of the square, 68 on the other – so the batsmen would like to target those areas. Today is the fourth game here and the ball hasn’t swung at all. Spin would play a key role, the pacers need to use their variations, possibly cutters on this surface. This is possibly the driest of the pitches we have seen so far. This is the same pitch that was used for the second Test in the recent Test series between India and England. As a spinner, you need to bowl with a bit of rip – something that Rashid and Chahal can do. Possibly, the team winning the toss would want to bat first.
Toss: SRH won the TOSS & elected to FIELD first.
IN: S Nadeem, J Holder, D Padikkal
