WI vs PAK Tips, Stats & Team for Today Match Prediction

Match:  WI vs PAK Test Match Prediction
Time:     12 August, 08:30 PM (IST)

 Series:  1st Test Match
Venue:   Sabina Park – Kingston, Jamaica

 Info:

  • We will start on the safe side and back Babar Azam to top score for Pakistan. He is their best batter and despite a tough series against Zimbabwe has the greatest odds of being Pakistan’s top scorer.
  • From West Indies, it’s difficult to pick one given that all players are very inconsistent. However, Shai Hope is a good choice to start. Another top-class player, who has been very good for West Indies over the years.
  • The conditions will be challenging and looking at the vulnerability in the batting of both teams, we think a score of under 250 is expected in the first inning.

 Live Streaming:

Live Streaming: Flow Sports have acquired the broadcasting rights in West Indies for the Pakistan series. In Pakistan, the matches can be seen on Ten Sports.

 Weather & Pitch Report:

⛅ Weather:

The pitch will have some extra pace for the bowlers to work with. Batting won’t be easy.

🏟️ Pitch:
The heavy rain on Sunday may well leave some moisture in the pitch for this game. If so, expect the pace bowlers to really enjoy the surface and a par total to be around 140-150.

 Toss Prediction:

The wicket will have some freshness and it won’t be a bad move to win the toss and bowl.

 Team News:

 WI Team News:

West Indies have added Chemar Holder and Shamarh Brooks to their Test squad. Shannon Gabriel won’t be part of the Test due to a hamstring injury. Darren Bravo also won’t be available.

 PAK Team News:

Fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Abbas have been included in the Pakistan squad. While the batting looks sorted, Pakistan would have to find a suitable bowling combination. Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Abbas should be the first choice starters.

 Winning Chances:

Who will win today match: WI vs PAK Test Match Fantasy Team
Both teams are very inconsistent thus there will be no clear favourites.  However, for the start, we would hand over the advantage to West Indies because home conditions do play a big role. The conditions in Zimbabwe were different to what Pakistan would get in West Indies thus the batters may struggle on these wickets with extra pace.  Pakistan are over dependent on Babar and his form will be a big concern for them.

 WI Key Players:

 Shamarh Brooks:

Brooks has been one of the main batters for West Indies in Tests. He scored a solid hundred in the warm-up game and will be keen to replicate his performance in the first Test.

 Shai Hope:

Shai Hope is arguably the best batter in West Indies team. He had a disappointing series against South Africa where he averaged just 18 in the two Tests. He would be keen to start the new series with a big knock.

 Jason Holder:

Jason Holder has been one of the best all-rounders in Test cricket for quite some time. His form with the bat hasn’t always been as good as some of the other players but whenever he has batted well, West Indies have had an advantage. His bowling is something West Indies will depend on heavily.

 PAK Key Players:

 Babar Azam:

Babar Azam is arguably one of the best batsmen in the world and there have been numerous times when he has performed. His form in Zimbabwe against the moving red ball wasn’t up to the mark. However, knowing how strong of a mindset cricketer he is, he must have overcome it. He will be a key batter in this line-up.

 Abid Ali:

Abid was in sensational form in Zimbabwe and scored 275 runs in the two innings he played. Pakistan would be happy if he can bat the same way he did against Zimbabwe. But the challenge would be stiffer in this series.

 Hasan Ali:

Hasan Ali has been on a roll in the last year or so. He will be brimming with confidence after picking 14 wickets against Zimbabwe. With conditions in favour, Hasan will be desperate to get the ball in hand.
